The first thing I noticed was how welcoming and friendly the staff was at this place. So comforting. I was in the mood for chicken roti and this place was recommended. The dhalpuri was made fresh and silky. The filing was stew chicken and curry potatoes. I found the chicken to be a bit dry, which is the only reason I took a star away. While it was a little dry, it was seasoned very well. Maybe adding more gravy would have helped. I will be returning to see if that will make a difference. The place was packed with what appeared to be returning customers all of whom were natives of Trinidad. I'll definitely be returning to try the roti again and their other dishes.
If you are looking for authentic Trinidad food. This is the spot. I always get 4 doubles for $7 with tamarind and pepper sauce. A little sweet with some heat on top of the channa folded up with two fried barra. Pure comfort food. The service here is quick and organized. You will be in and out in no time. There is a dining room that I rarely seen use. This is my go to spot for something delicious and quick.
I always come here for buss up shut. 1 is enough to share for 3 people. It's the best and they make it delicious every time!
I'm not sure why such bad reviews...this is where my fiancé's dad gets doubles and other goodies from. My fiancé is Guyanese American and his family loves this spot. $6.50 for enough food to feed 3 people easily. I'm not well versed in West Indian cuisine, I'll admit that, but if my fiancé's dad likes it I am sure it's good. One thing is the food is kinda greasy. But the price makes up for it.
